Projects / Use Cases
DIR East has been involved in pre-deployment projects for collaborative intelligent transport systems since 2014 (SCOOP, C-Roads and InDiD). As part of this, it has deployed 46 RSUs (roadside units) along the A31/A33/RN431 network. These RSUs will enable the DIR East to provide high-quality roadside information in real time to users travelling in connected vehicles.
The following use cases will be implemented as a matter of priority:
- B1 – planned road works
- D2a and b – animal or pedestrian on the road
- D3 – obstacle on the road
- D4 – stationary vehicle
- D5 – accident
- D11 – end of queue

The RSUs could be put into production from the 2nd half of 2024 with the priority use cases.
