ATMB
Presentation
Connecting people: the ATMB network’s primary mission is to connect people. In the heart of the Alps, ATMB makes a region with a unique geography accessible, from the foothills of the Jura, through the Geneva plains, to the Swiss and Italian Alps. Our 130 km network facilitates mobility for everyone. It connects residents to the areas where they live and work, tourists to the mountains they come to explore and businesses to their economic activities. By traversing the mountains and optimising its territory, ATMB ensures the highest standards of safety and traffic flow for drivers 24 hours a day. By contributing to the drive towards decarbonisation through support for new forms of mobility, the ATMB teams aim to transform the transport sector, making it cleaner and more sustainable. The ATMB teams’ work is driven by three key priorities: safety, mobility and the environment.

ATMB is actively involved in the roll-out of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), in line with its innovation strategy aimed at enhancing safety, improving traffic flow and facilitating the transition to more sustainable mobility. As a manager of major infrastructure in an alpine environment, ATMB participates in C-ITS initiatives aimed at enhancing the exchange of real-time information between infrastructure, vehicles and users.
These contributions make it possible, in particular, to test and implement cooperative services relating to road safety (hazard warnings, weather conditions and roadworks), traffic management and the improvement of traveller information. Through its participation in pilot projects and national and European partnership networks, ATMB contributes to the interoperability of solutions, the development of C-ITS standards and the preparation of the motorway network for connected and automated mobility.
