Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Area

Presentation
The Aix-en-Provence Metropolitan Area has 1,890,000 inhabitants and 92 towns and villages. It is the largest metropolitan area in France (3,150 km²).
One of the Metropolitan authority's major responsibilities within its territory is the organisation of mobility and public transport. It delegates the operation of its networks to a number of players, including Keolis for the Aix-en-Bus network.
The powers of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Authority in the area of roads will be reviewed in the light of the 2022 decentralisation law (the 3DS law).
