ATOS – IDNOMIC
Presentation
The Atos group is a world leader in digital services and cybersecurity. Present in more than 70 countries, it has 111,000 employees and an annual revenue of €11 billion. Within the group's Big Data & Security entity, a dedicated team develops, deploys and operates the IDnomic C-ITS PKI. In addition, it plays an active role in the ecosystem through standardisation, the C-ROADS platform, the European Commission's expert group, etc.
Specialising in cybersecurity and digital identity, this team has been involved in standardisation and major French and European C-ITS projects since 2014. Since 2020, Atos has been the European Commission's trusted partner and operates the root and central European PKI for it.
Projects / Use Cases
La PKI C-ITS IDnomic a été déployée pour le Ministère de la transition écologique et l’ensemble des partenaires des grands projets pilotes français depuis 2016 : SCOOP@FRANCE, Intercor, C-ROADS et InDiD. Elle a également été utilisée par la Belgique sur le projet Intercor. Enfin, c’est la solution qui a été choisie par la Commission européenne pour sa PKI centrale.
C’est la première PKI à avoir été auditée et déclarée conforme à la Certificate Policy européenne. Cette PKI est ouverte à l’ensemble des acteurs de l’écosystème C-ITS désirant déployer des stations interopérables intégrant les éléments et niveaux de sécurité requis par le domaine de confiance européen. Trois niveaux de services sont aujourd’hui proposés à travers trois plateformes distinctes : un niveau L0, accessible depuis deux ans et destiné aux projets de développement, d’intégration et aux pilotes. Un niveau L1, qui sera ouvert en 2022 pour une durée limitée et qui sera réservé à des déploiements dans des conditions proches de la production. Puis un niveau L2, réservé pour de la production industrielle intégralement conformes aux différents référentiels applicables (CP, SP, standards), tant au niveau PKI qu’au niveau des stations.

Timeline
- The IDnomic C-ITS PKI has been deployed for the Ministry for Ecological Transition and all partners involved in major French pilot projects since 2016: SCOOP@FRANCE, Intercor, C-ROADS and InDiD. It has also been used by Belgium on the Intercor project. Finally, it is the solution chosen by the European Commission for its central PKI.
- It is the first PKI to have been audited and declared compliant with the European Certificate Policy. This PKI is open to all stakeholders in the C-ITS ecosystem wishing to deploy interoperable stations incorporating the security elements and levels required by the European Trust Domain. Three service levels are currently offered via three separate platforms: an L0 level, available for two years and intended for development, integration and pilot projects. An L1 level, which will be launched in 2022 for a limited period and will be reserved for deployments under conditions similar to production. And an L2 level, reserved for industrial production that is fully compliant with the various applicable standards (CP, SP, technical standards), both at the PKI level and at the station level.
