Bordeaux INP
Presentation
Bordeaux INP is a Scientific, Cultural and Professional Public Institution (EPSCP), organised as a higher education institution. It shares responsibility, notably with the University of Bordeaux and the CNRS, for 11 on-site laboratories, covering a broad spectrum of scientific and technological disciplines. Among these units, LaBRI (Bordeaux Laboratory for Research in Computer Science) is directly involved in the SCALE project, contributing its recognised expertise in computer science, distributed systems, C-ITS architectures, artificial intelligence and the validation of complex systems. A major player in engineering education in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bordeaux INP brings together public engineering schools and draws on research of the highest standard, closely linked to the challenges of innovation and knowledge transfer to local regions and socio-economic stakeholders. As an affiliate of the University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux INP is deeply rooted in its region and is a partner of the Bordeaux University Innovation Cluster, which enables it to play a major role in shaping the landscape of higher education, research and innovation at metropolitan, regional, national and international levels.

Participation in SCALE:
As part of the SCALE project, Bordeaux INP is actively involved in the South-West pilot site, contributing to the functional and technical specifications for new use cases relating to traffic-light intersections, modal transition and air quality. The institution is also involved in improving and evaluating already mature use cases, such as GLOSA and Time-to-Green (TTG), and supports their operational deployment. Bordeaux INP is primarily involved in the following working groups:
- certification and validation sites,
- architecture and technology intelligence,
- connected traffic lights,
- Bus & Car OBU,
- safety and technical assessment.
On a European level, Bordeaux INP plays a key role in Task 1.3, Strategic Harmonisation, co-leading the DG3 ‘Production Launch Compliance Process’, thereby helping to harmonise the processes involved in launching C-ITS services.
Finally, as part of Task T3.1 (Production Launch), Bordeaux INP aims to become a centre of expertise and certification for C-ITS services. The objective is to support, assess and certify the solutions of infrastructure managers who wish to deploy these services, ensuring they comply with standards, are interoperable and that deployments at other sites are of high quality.
