Projects / Use Cases

Participation in SCALE:

Participation in InDID: Brittany manages inter-urban public transport lines. C-ITS can help improve the performance of buses, whether in terms of journey times or safety, by transmitting information on traffic conditions directly from the road operator to bus drivers. This is why the Brittany Region has been involved alongside DIRO in pilot projects for collaborative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) since 2014. As a partner in the Scoop project within ITS-Brittany, the Brittany Region is involved in the C-Roads and, currently, the InDiD projects through collaboration agreements

Timeline

In this context, the Brittany Region and DIRO plan to test the first services for bus drivers in 2023. In addition, at the same time, still in collaboration with DIRO, the first messages promoting intermodality on the approach to Rennes or St Brieuc, for example, could be sent to users via the “on-board VMS”.
