DIR Massif Central

Presentation

The DIR Massif Central is a government department responsible for operating and maintaining the A75/A750 motorways and the RN88, RN102, RN106 and RN122 national roads. It operates across a 900-kilometre network, comprising 320 kilometres of motorway and 580 kilometres of national roads. The DIR Massif Central network crosses a mountain range and is characterised by its high altitude: 400 km of roads are situated at an altitude of more than 900 metres. These roads pass through 12 mountain passes, each more than 1,000 metres high. This makes the A75 the highest motorway in France and one of the highest in Europe.
