Presentation
The Roads Department for Île-de-France (DiRIF) is the public service responsible for motorways and trunk roads in the Île-de-France region. A decentralised department of the Ministry of Transport, it is placed under the authority of the Prefect of Île-de-France, Prefect of Paris, within the Île-de-France Regional and Interdepartmental Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Transport (DRIEAT). DiRIF network comprises 1,300 km of national roads and motorways not under concession, 300 interchanges, 25 tunnels longer than 300 m, 1,900 engineering structures (bridges, viaducts, covered trenches, walls, etc.) and 410 variable message signs.
