Strasbourg Eurometropolis
Presentation
The Strasbourg Eurometropolis, through its SIRAC department, addresses three key challenges: user safety, real-time information and traffic management.
Key mobility missions
The department manages mobility across the entire metropolitan area:
- Traffic management and regulation: real-time monitoring and operation of road networks (urban, interurban and expressways).
- Prioritisation of public transit: implement systems to improve the flow of buses and trams.
- User information: provide data on traffic conditions and car park occupancy.
- Safety and security: secure sensitive areas (pedestrian zones, parks, school surroundings and business areas).
Management and operation of structures
SIRAC also provides technical operation services for specific infrastructure:
- Tunnel operation: technical monitoring and safety management (fire and traffic).
- River structures: operation of a mobile footbridge and a swing bridge.
