VEDECOM
Presentation
VEDECOM is an Energy Transition Institute (ETI) dedicated to individual, carbon-free and sustainable mobility, established as part of the French government’s ‘Investing in the Future’ plan. It contributes to the “Autonomous Vehicles Plan”, recently incorporated into the “Solutions for Tomorrow’s Industry” programme alongside ecomobility. These two initiatives form part of “New Industrial France”, the government plan aimed at revitalising the country’s industry.
As a foundation established through a public-private partnership, VEDECOM is built on an unprecedented collaboration between the automotive and aerospace industries, infrastructure and service providers within the mobility ecosystem, university research institutes and local authorities.
VEDECOM aims to become a European leader in innovation in the fields of electric vehicles, autonomous and connected cars, and new infrastructure and services for shared mobility and energy. VEDECOM’s research focuses on three areas: vehicle electrification, connected and automated driving, and shared mobility and energy. Furthermore, VEDECOM acts as an accredited training provider, offering specialised training courses and raising public awareness of innovative mobility solutions.

SCALE:
VEDECOM coordinates the go-live phase and, more specifically, the identification of certification sites for the live implementation of equipment and operational sites. In addition, VEDECOM provides support for deployments at the Île-de-France pilot site. Alongside the Versailles site, VEDECOM operates a closed test circuit comprised of various types of road infrastructure (urban and semi-rural roads). A 3 km road circuit. High-speed circuit (90 km/h). It enables C-ITS use cases to be validated thanks to the presence of road equipment (traffic lights and cameras), connected vehicles (multi-technology OBUs (ITS-G5+cellular)), a 5G network infrastructure, edge servers and internet access.
