SCALE (Strengthening C-ITS Adoption and Lining up across Europe) is a major European project dedicated to accelerating the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) across Europe. Spread over 52 months (September 2024 - December 2028), the project brings together 86 partners and has a budget of 77 million euros, 50% of which is co-financed by the European Union.

SCALE is a continuation of the SCOOP@F, C-ROADS France, InterCor and InDiD projects. It aims to remove the last technological, industrial and economic obstacles to the industrialization of C-ITS, while facilitating their integration by roadway managers and connected vehicles.

The project meets the challenges of national deployment in France, with a strong opening towards Europe and its Spanish and Italian neighbors, as well as Austria and Hungary.  Its aim is to accelerate the deployment of C-ITS services and experiment with new use cases on a large scale at 10 pilot and operational sites across Europe, including 6 in France.

SCALE is actively helping to position Europe as a leader in the strategic field of cooperative intelligent transport. By tackling key challenges, it paves the way for massive, harmonized and sustainable deployment of C-ITS.
